Alicja Majewska

Sculptor and academic lecturer. She was awarded a diploma in 1986 under Prof. Adolf Ryszka. Her studies and professional career is associated with Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. She received the title of Professor of Arts in 2020. In her work, she refers to matters associated with the term “values” in a modern context.

She is an author of 11 solo exhibitions and more than 100 group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. She received multiple rewards and distinctions in artistic competitions and reviews. She received many artistic scholarships. She is the author of prestigious distinctions such as “Convallarii Copernicana” awarded by the Senate of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, the medal of President of Toruń “Thorunium” and the medal of the marshal of Kuyavia-Pomerania Voivodeship „Hereditas Saeculorum”. Her works are in many private collections and museums such as Museo Centrodantesca in Ravenna, Italy, Medialia Gallery in New York, USA, Muzeum Medalierstwa in Wrocław, Muzeum Okręgowe in Toruń and  Bydgoszcz, as well as private collections in Poland and abroad. She is a member of the International Art Medal Federation. She lives and works in Toruń.
