Weronika Marszelewska


Born in 1990 in Toruń. She studied graphic design at the Department of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, her hometown. She graduated with honours and received her Master’s diploma in 2015. She received her PhD title in fine art in September 2019. She makes small graphic forms, paints and experiments. Her works oscillate on the border of abstraction and landscape.

She participated in over 60 group exhibitions in Poland and abroad (Romania, Belgium, Germany, Russia, Japan, Great Britain, USA, Canada, Chile, Colombia). She organised 6 solo exhibitions – three times in Toruń and in Gdansk, Warsaw and Włocławek.

She is also involved in cultural animation. in the years 2016-2019, she carried out her own exhibition project called POTĘGA MAŁEJ FORMY. She originator and co-organizer of Targi Młodej Sztuki Toruń 2018. In the years 2015-2019, she taught the basics of graphic design (relief printing) to students of the first year of artistic courses at her alma mater. She also has experience in working with schoolchildren.

Main achievements:

2015 – Victor Stuyvaert Prize (for Young Talent in relief printing) – 20th Sint-Niklaas International Bookplates and Small Printmaking Competition 2015, Sint-Niklaas, Belgium.
2016 –  Scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for outstanding artistic contributions.
2017 – Award nomination – 4th. International Small Etching Biennial Graphium – Timisoara 2017, Romania
2018 – Distinction – 10. International Miniature Biennal in Częstochowa, Ośrodek Promocji Kultury Gaude Mater, Częstochowa
2019 – Award nomination – XII Quadriennale Drzeworytu i Linorytu Polskiego Olsztyn 2019, BWA Galeria Sztuki in Olsztyn
2020 – Scholarship of the Marshal of Kuyavia-Pomerania Voivodeship for artists, promoting culture and protection of historic monuments
