Stanisław Matuszczak was born in Bydgoszcz on April 6, 1934. In 1948 he began the Artistic High School in Bydgoszcz. His teachers were, maong others, Jan Biedowicz, Stanisław Brzęczkowski, Zygmunt Kotlarczyk, Marian Turwid.
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under Prof. Janusz Strzałecki. He received his diploma in 1959 under Prof. Eugeniusz Eibisch.
He deals with applied arts, mostly in the field of graphic design, drawing and painting. He participated in numerous exhibitions. Since 1963 he has been teaching in the Fine Arts High School in Bydgoszcz. He was the director of this school in the years 1987-1991. He got into lithography already during his education in Bydgoszcz. He shares his experience with young adepts of art, he has been the head of the faculty of lithography since 1999.
In 1972 in Mały Salon Sztuki Towarzystwa Przyjaciół Sztuki in Bydgoszcz, Stanisław Matuszczak had his first solo exhibition “Eseje”, which presented drawings and gouaches. It was prepared by Biuro Wystaw Artystycznych in Bydgoszcz.
