Magdalena Abakanowicz

World-renowned Polish sculptor repeatedly honoured and awarded. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In the years 1965-1990 Abakanowicz lectured at the Poznań University of Art. She was a Visiting Professor at the University of California. Since the 1960s, he has been modeling anthropomorphic forms from a dyed, stiffened, sisal shape, bearing the action of abacans grouped in multiple compositions. In 1965, Abakany was awarded a gold medal at the Sao Paulo Biennale. Magdalena Abakanowicz has received several Honorary Doctorates from many prestigious universities, for example the Royal College of Art in London or the School of the Art Institute in Chicago. Today, the sculptor’s works can be found in many museums and galleries around the world, and in the collections covered.
